The route of the villas that runs along the impressive promenade by the sea, framed between the Hotel Voramar and the Torre de San vicente, will take us to the Belle Époque of Benalmádena and the heyday of stately tourism in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. If we enter the city we find the Church of Santo Tomás de Villanueva, or the Cinema-Theater that offers a varied program of theater, music, workshops and exhibitions throughout the year. In the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, a select group of families from Castellón and Valencia built in this virginal bay what is known as the « Valencian Biarritz », a group of villas of great diversity and architectural richness.

Today, the famous Route of the Villas is divided into two itineraries, the route of « Hell » owes its name to the scandalous parties that were held in the villas of that area, while the route of the « Heavenly Court » is distinguished by the tranquility of its streets. And we continue with the Travel in time
Carmelitano winery where quality products are made in an artisanal way. Since 1896, the Carmelite Fathers, who founded Carmelitano, left us ancient and artisan guidelines. The Carmelitano Museum is a building from 1912, a mixture of styles between a farmhouse of wealthy people and a house bourgeois country manor. In these facilities you can visit the cellars and taste their products. The famous Carmelite Liquor, made with herbs, seeds and roots that exist in the Desierto de las Palmas. The distilleries are located on the slopes of the Desert, on their way to the sea, and due to the urban change, practically, in the center of the urban area of Benicasim.
